The Metropolitan Police

The Metropolitan Police contract began in July 2004 and has an initial five year lifespan with the possibility of a further five year extension. The contract is with the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) of London, who manage it on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS).

Amey has been contracted by the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) to provide total facilities management to the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) Operational Command Unit buildings at Hendon, Bow and Lambeth. These buildings house Command, Control, Communications and Information services for the Metropolitan Police. Aside from Scotland Yard, these facilities represent some of the most critical MPS buildings in the whole of London.

Amey provides fundamental support services to the three crucial 24-hour a day sites. The main areas of service delivery to MPS are manned security, building maintenance, including all statutory maintenance, works project management, cleaning, reception services including mail, porter and messenger, grounds maintenance and sub-contractor management.

Amey’s flexibility and responsiveness to operational pressures ensures that the buildings are run smoothly and interruptions to their use are kept to an absolute minimum. Successful project management is a vital part of the contract. A particularly successful project involved the development of a training facility which, in spite of a major change in the required output, was delivered by back to the client a week early.

The Amey team has an excellent reputation within the Metropolitan Police Authority and are continuously developed and trained to enhance our service delivery.
