Development

Continued investment in the development of all our employees is crucial to the long term success of Amey and our clients, enhancing our reputation as an Employer of Choice.

Through our Performance Development system help employees understand their contribution to Amey and identify the appropriate development opportunities to help them reach their full potential. We have established an Amey wide approach to learning and development including accredited programmes, internal courses, workshops and leadership development. Our flagship programmes include:

Learn & Develop @ Amey

A suite of internal programmes, built around our values which support employees in three key skill areas – Business, People and Personal. It includes our Corporate Induction, which is an important introduction to our company, our values, our strategy, the benefits of working for a diverse organisation and our customer service ethos.

Managing Success: First Line Management

Amey is committed to developing people at all levels including those taking on their first roles as managers. To support this group we partner with Advantage Performance Training to run a six-day programme leading to the ILM Level 3 Introductory Certificate in Line Management.

Warwick Applied Management Diploma

Each year, we sponsor 20 Amey managers to undertake an 18-month business diploma with our partner, Warwick Business School. The course provides delegates with a full toolkit to manage their business area including tailored modules on strategy, HR, operations and service management.

Impact!

A selection of programmes for our senior managers to support their role as leaders in Amey and build enviable leadership bench strength.  This group may also attend the dedicated senior executive programmes at Ferrovial’s Corporate University, based in Madrid, in partnership with the IESE Business School.

Talent Tracker

Each year, employees are able to nominate themselves for our Talent Tracker programme. Short-listed delegates are invited to an assessment centre where their potential is assessed against the values and a group of Fast Track employees are identified. This group have their career path tracked and managed for 24 months by dedicated support from our Talent and Graduate Development Manager.

Health and Safety

We have a robust Safety Training Plan for all employees from Service Directors through to front line staff. Compliance to this plan is monitored via the internal audit regime and reviewed annually. Additionally occupational specific safety training has been identified for all positions and effectively delivered by internal specialists or our suppliers framework. We recognise the tangible link between competence and safety, which has presented us with a safety record to be proud of. Read more about our Health and Safety policies.
