I'm a Senior Engineer working in the rail market. I was originally an employee of Owen Williams before being transferred over to Amey's Consulting division when the organisation was acquired in 2006.
I work on the railways, specialising in overhead lines and design for major projects. I work onsite regularly, assessing changes and carrying out surveys. I have a mixed team reporting into me, ranging from a technician and a graduate to a Principal Engineer.
As an employee transferred to Amey, I'm not unusual. There are many employees that have been TUPE transferred over from various organisations. I can definitely say is Amey has made a positive difference since acquiring Owen Williams. A recent office move into a bright and newly furnished office is a prime example of Amey's ability to just get things done, and do them quickly.
If I could give a new employee at Amey a piece of advice I would say that if you demonstrate commitment then people appreciate your hard work. You do get back what you put in at Amey.

We stand out in my sector in terms of the level of investment we put into engineers specialising in overhead line engineering by taking on apprentices early on in their career.
